Recently Stacy Marquez, a writer for the Daily Aztec, the school newspaper of San Diego State University, did a story about Coaching Corps and the work SDSU students have been doing in their community.

“A year ago, San Diego State University freshman Zara Wehrung encountered a flyer posted in her residence hall inviting students to become coaches for after-school programs.

Given her background in soccer and volleyball, and a lingering curiosity to coach a sports team, she signed up for Coaching Corps, a nonprofit organization that recruits, trains and supports community members to use sports as a way to teach children life lessons.”
